Ruffle scarf

Here’s one of the presents I made before christmas, but it’s actually a birthday present.

Pattern: Ruffle scarf from Scarf Style
Yarn: Monoprix RayureDouble, 4 skeins
Needles: 5 mm

I like this pattern, easy and effective, and I enjoyed knitting this scarf even if it is kind of never ending! I learned short rows and tought myself to knit backwards (from left to right) so that I didnt flip the scarf too often !

I love the colours of the yarn, slightly darker than on the picture. In fact, I love the scarf and even considered keeping it for myself… but the yarn is slightly itchy for my extra sensitive skin (although I cant say I am allergic, I have a real problem with wool), so I had no regrets giving it away and apparently it made a very happy friend. And now her roomate wants one too !

I’m back from holidays, and now I can share with you what I made in … 2007.

Let’s start from the last : I present to you my brand new knitting project bag !

 It was love-at-fisrt-sight with this bright red fabric and those big colourful dots, and there sure will be other knitting-related items made out of it (but first I need to master the zipper-sewing part…).

Pattern:  pleated tote from artsy-crafty babe .

I am VERY PROUD of this: first time ever sewing a bag, and second time sewing something that isnt straight and square. I will definitely be using this pattern again, lovely and very easy. The only thing is: I forgot to prewash the fabric and found out later that the lining bleeds a lot… Hum, wonder what will happen at the first wash.

It carried my knitting project for me all along my holiday travels, but sadly it came out quite dirty from the subway in Paris…
